INAUGURATION DAY: TURN OFF THE TV AND TUNE INTO THE HEART WITH JAI BHAKTI™

In response to the level of anxiety friends and family members are experiencing during the transition from President Obama to our new President-Elect, I invite you to turn off your TV today and Tune into the bandwidth of your Heart.

I invite you to join me for meditation and prayer starting at noon (EST). This is a global event: folks from all over the world have responded to my plea to send out peace and love during these divisive times. I will be holding the place of the Heart for us.

You can find the free meditation instructions I posted on JAI BHAKTI™ back in 2005 here:

Howard Zinn 1922-2010

My love and respect go out to the family of Howard Zinn--perhaps the greatest thinker of the Twentieth Century. My words could never do his life's work justice, so I ask that you read his books and essays, watch the archived video and print interviews (on Youtube and howardzinn.org, respectively), and see if you are not moved by his passion for equality among all human beings. Following in Thoreau's footsteps, Zinn reminded us all that the greatest form of patriotism is holding your government accountable for its actions.

Zinn never subscribed to violence--not in his actions, nor in his speech. He often smiled while lecturing, never expecting the listener to take his words at face value, but asked that we, as citizens of the United States, educate ourselves, for an ignorant people is a government's wet dream. He believed civil-disobedience to be the greatest way to wake up a government that won't answer to its constituents; the keyword here being 'civil'.

Howard Zinn was one of the greatest patriots of the United States of America. God Bless him, and may he rest in peace, knowing that by taking immediate action against race discrimination, the Vietnam War, and womens' rights, he helped start movements that paved the way for lasting change to take place. He was a pioneer who demanded that his government live up to the ideals set forth in the Constitution, and own up to the rights of all citizens mandated in the Bill of Rights because even though these rights were written by the rich and powerful, they were written for all citizens of the United States of America.

DISSONANCE IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF PATRIOTISM

Z-DAY: MARCH 15, 2008

http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/

I just received a link to this movie. It is so absolutely thought provoking--and many of the ideas in it are relative to the way I think (i.e. that TV and the entire entertainment industry is dumbing down America; and that the government--through bogus programs like No Child Left Behind-- are creating an environment in the classroom where teachers are forced to teach to the test and not actually teach to the individual students, thus cheating children of a good education). I can't actually say that the information contained in the film is shocking; some of it I had already heard and/or researched myself.

I do not profess to know or even believe that everything contained in this movie is true, yet I do think it is, as stated above, thought provoking and the ideas contained within are certainly in our best interest to investigate further. For example, I was in Manhattan on 911 and I photographed WTC Building 7 as it fell. I also photographed many other buildings around the Twin Towers that were already half-way demolished by the impact of the debris from the falling Twin Towers. It's not hard to understand how a lowrise building like Building 7 would simply collapse in on itself. It's not like this type of building is going to fall over on it's side; according to physics, that would be impossible. Also, the man who designed the Twin Towers designed them so that if they ever fell that they would fall down in the exact manner that they did on 911. He did this to ensure that the Towers would never 'fall over'. The floors fell one-on-top-of-another just like they were designed to do. I'm not sold on the 911 Conspiracy Theory. However, I absolutely do believe that that 911 was used by the W. Bush administration as an excuse to start a war that they had already planned on waging.

The second example I will use to show that I don't believe everything in the ZEITGEIST movie is that Jesus's 'real' birthday was not December 25; that is merely the date that Christians celebrate His birth. This shoots down the astrological theories put forth in the first section of the movie. If you visit the Zeitgeistmovie website you will find that the film maker addressed this issue in the 'Clarification' section of the movie's website.

The part about the U.S. Federal Reserve did prick up my ears--and that is the part that makes the most sense to me and that I feel every American should look into for him or herself.)

The film is broken into three sections. I ask that you please at least watch the part about the Federal Reserve and the international bankers. You can fast-forward to the part that illustrates how the government is forcing the middle and lower classes into monetary dire straits--via the U.S. Federal Reserve controlling the value of the dollar bill and the amount of money in circulation at any given time-- by forwarding the arrow to around 1:12:00.

You can read more about the Federal Reserve and the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 by CLICKING HERE.

It truly is time for all spiritual leaders and Knowers of the Truth to step forward and stop the rich and powerful warmongers and international bankers from creating a world of unbelievable poverty for the majority of human beings living on this great planet.

It is the wish of these money hungry war mongers to create ONE GOVERNMENT on the entire planet. In other words: we will be the peasants and 'they' will rule US. (I will publish information about this subject in my next post.)

If you not only believe, but you KNOW that love is more powerful than fear--it's time to step up to the plate and make your voice be heard.

Pray for everyone, everywhere to know the peace, love, and joy of the Heart.
Pray that everyone, everywhere may know good health.
Pray that everyone, everywhere has enough food to eat, water to drink, and a safe place to live.
Pray that the GOOD people of this great earth come together and demand a true change in this world.
DEMAND THAT THE WORLD BE GOVERNED NOT BY FEAR, BUT BY LOVE.

Amen.

Love to all of you,
Bhakti

PEACE ON EARTH

This doe is resting comfortably while her mother
hides herself a short distance away.
This photo was taken in my
Grandmother's backyard.

Every other day I throw peanuts out for the squirrels.
This little guy LOVES peanuts. I watched
him eat about 4 in a row!
In this photo you can see that the little rascal
has noticed my presence behind the
front window.
Check out the peanut he's guarding under his foot!!

No matter what hand I'm playing in life (and right now it seems to be the 'illness' card), I am still blessed enough to search out the magically wondrous beauty of the world. I love these two pictures, and I am thankful that I was able to see the beauty of these animals.
Enough about me, how are YOU all doing? Do tell!!!
Love,
Bhakti

Enter the Pain

You cannot run from pain. It's a futile endeavor that only leaves you wounded and cold. Pain is like a tick: it is not just going to decide to get up and leave your dog's backside; you have to get out the tweezers and pick the darn thing out. Moreover, don't do a half-assed job or there will be more hell to pay when the pain rears its ugly head again sometime in the near future.

Pain does not really have an 'ugly head'. We say that pain rears its ugly head simply because pain is (in most cases) not a pleasant experience. However, pain is just another emotional red flag, another physical or physiological function of the body to let us know that
something ain't right!
This is true. Well, if you read the last post, you know that I have a beautiful relationship with my true Self, my essence. But, as a mere human who is not fully-realized, I also experience all five functions of Shiva (
click here if you are not familiar with the five functions; if you have no idea what I'm talking about; if you once knew but have since forgotten; or if you merely want to read a post from my early archives. Whatever floats your boat keeps you afloat, and that's fine with me.)

?

Don't ask.

Getting back to my point, Shiva is the Creator, Sustainer, Destroyer, The One who veils us from the Truth, and the Bestower of Grace. These are his five functions. Thank God, I do not spend a lot of my time with the veil of ignorance over my head, so to speak. I am usually privy to the wondrous source of Bliss and Joy that is contained within the depths of my Heart Center. Yet, last night I had a terrible case of deception. I couldn't find my 'center' because I was too busy chasing my tail. I was so unbalanced that I didn't even realize that I was chasing my tail!

I let myself get a bit overwhelmed with my current situation (being out of work, my health, etc.). Rather than checking in to see how I was doing both physically and mentally, I kept pushing forward--knowing that I needed to meet certain deadlines and attend certain meetings that I wasn't looking forward to participating in. Lot's of anxiety was coming up. I could feel it brewing in the pit of my stomach. Nevertheless, I didn't stop to meditate, to figure out where I needed to be paying attention to the pent up tension in my body so that I could release it.

Well, last night I got totally overwhelmed. For the life of me, I could not find my center. This is a terribly awful place to be; especially when you KNOW that the current anxiety and tension is all a state of mind. Actually, it is all created by the mind, but takes on physical traits when not given attention at the onset. I cried a lot--which is actually a very important way to release toxins. However, I woke up with the pit of my stomach still tied into knots, and my chest was tight as hell.

I went for a walk this morning, and felt the onset of a panic attack. I felt sweaty and faint. Oh, man! I thought. How did I let myself get this out of control? I haven't had a panic attack in YEARS! I stopped exactly where I was on the sidewalk; listened to the voice in my head (You're going to faint! Better call someone!); then I turned around and took a shorter route home. I counted every step:

Inhale for four steps...1..2..3..4..

Hold breath for four steps...1..2..3..4..

Exhale for four steps...1..2..3..4...

Hold breath for four steps...1..2..3..4..
Repeat
After doing about three rounds of this walking meditation, I was feeling much better. You see, the reason I was getting the panic attack symptoms were because I was so anxious that I was holding my breath (or, at the most, I was taking shallow breaths). I walked through the parking lot of a local church, and thanked God for helping me. I turned around to take one more look at the church, and discovered the moon out in full daylight, seeminly hanging right above the cross. Om Guru Om!

After I ate my lunch, I emailed my friend
Sally, just to tell her how I was feeling. I was sick of identifying with the physical body and the pain. She told me to love myself. This was profound. She also reminded me of a very simple meditation technique to release the anxiety--or any other junk that was stuck in my body. Of course, I followed her advice and had a wonderful meditation. At first it didn't feel too wonderful! I sat on my cushion, did my formal prayers, and then sat. I just sat and simply felt the state of my physical body. I was so tense! I focused on the parts of the body that were filled with tension, breathed into those areas, and then-- on the out-breath-- released the tension. I wondered how long it had been since I actually checked in to witness the state of my body and mind.
I ended up repeating one of my favorite mantras, too. I let myself sing the mantra in any way that felt appropriate. After about 75 minutes, I was totally in peace. I could feel '
Aum', the primordial sound, reverberating in my body as I sang the mantra.

In closing, I would like to offer you this: You can't run from your pain. You have to deal with it when it rears its beautiful head. Pain is an indication that something is a bit off. Something needs attention. It's very important to check in with ourselves to see how we are doing. And, as Sally says, we need to do this breathing out the tension meditation repeatedly.

I thank Sally for being there for me, and always offering me her love and support and her infinite wisdom. And I thank all of you who have offered your good wishes and prayers.

Namaste!
Bhakti
