Where In The World Is Bhakti?
Tomorrow, the doctors are going to plunge into the depth of my spine once again. I know what you're thinking--"They're finally going to fix her membrane!" No! This time, they're going to fix a nerve.
I don't know how long I will be offline: maybe a day or two, maybe a week, perhaps a hundred thousand years. Anyone's guess is as good as Gyrobo's. Please have fun in my absence...and visit some friends on my blog list. And be sure to tell them that Michele didn't send you! :)
UPDATE: I have just been informed that I am to refrain from typing for at least a couple of weeks. I would like you all to litter my Comments section with your thoughts, jokes, irrelevent mumbo-jumbo, happy wishes, prayers, and inane nonsense, as this has always been a source of great joy for me. You have all brought so much love and joy into my life and made my health journey of the past 6 months so much easier to handle. I thank you for that.
I would especially like to ask that Gyrobo and Flatlander keep everyone entertained with their insightful insights and most beautiful ramblings about the greatness of life as a robot and a Flatfooted skateboarder.
I will check the comments section daily, but will not be able to respond.
THIS IS NOW AN OPEN THREAD, SO HAVE FUN!
Much Love,
Bhakti

Bhakti, I wish you luck and hope it is done with no major problems or too much pain. I'll be thinking about you.
Thank you Kenju! :)
what are you getting done? When Boo asked about you yesterday, I said they were going to do an episiotomy...then, I remembered,,,oops! I mean an epidoural..I knew it was something related to childbirth....
cc
I don't think it has anything to do with childbirth, considering that the procedure is being done on my neck. If it does have to do with childbirth, then that puppy's been swimming a long time!! (Halloween 1990!) LOL!!!
I'm having an epidural steriod injection shot right into the root of the nerve on the right side of my C-6 vertebra (one of the 'bionic' ones). I have to be put out because it hurts like hell.
Let's hope it heals the burning nerve pain going down my left arm so I can get off some of these meds and start my physical therapy up again!!
Got that Kiss Album you sent me
I exchanged it.
Yeah, well...that's probably a good thing. I just posted the KISS album 'cause it contains the song "100,000 Thousand Years".
I used to love KISS. I think that may be the reason why I have a bad spine now.
Went with the kiddies and Ed to Friendly's (cheesy, but the kids picked it) because L will be home late tonight..I chose the "Roast Turkey" because it has an "LC" next to it for Low Cal choice...when it came, it had turkey with gravy, stuffing, mashed potatos and thick garlic bread....LC???? When I got home, I put the kids to bed and ate their sundaes!!
I feel like a blob!
anyway...Good luck tomorrow!
OOPS!! I am having my procedure done on my LEFT side, not my right side. Just thought I'd clear that up, in case my doctor is reading this (NOT!) (If he is, I'm switching doctors!)
CC--My Godmother, LH, brought me to Friendly's today because I LOVE their salads. They're SO fresh. Seriously. Friendly's is the only place to get a good salad for lunch in our neck of the woods.
Anyway, I ended up getting a sandwich, too. I made dinner for Buel and J. and then fell asleep while they ate it!! Nice, huh?
Anyway, call J. She's upset about my brother Tommy. She could use a pick me up. All of her kids are falling apart at the seems!! LOL! It's not that funny, is it??
This isn't supposed to be a very serious surgical procedure. I had it done about eight years ago and they didn't put me out. Maybe because that dealt with a disc and not the nerve. I don't know. Anyway, the doctor's office asked me if I had a living will. I said, "Do you think I NEED one?"
It would be just like me to make it through a six hour spinal fusion and then croak while getting a shot! LOL! Lest I jest...
Hey J.B.! Don't let them plant any more bionics in there without telling you first!
Yesterday I picked up a Frank Zappa album at a thrift shop, just because I know you like him and I've never really heard his sounds.
So I'll let you know how it goes when I finally descend to the basement where are stationed the Wheels of Steeltown.
Good luck with the doctor man! I think that Hanuman will be with you. He's bionic too, you know :)
Hey, Thanks a lot for the happy wishes, Flatfooter.
Good luck with the Zappa album. Which one is it?? There are over 65 studio albums in his collection, and he had so many different musical styles. In other words, if you don't like that particular one, don't count him out altogether! I'm thinking maybe you've got your hands on Joe's Garage, A Shipe Arriving Too Late To Save A Drowning Witch, Sheik Yurbooti, Freak Out, Hot Rats, or something along those lines. If not, I'd recommend any of those. However, even though I like Joe's Garage, I prefer his less commercial sounding work ('cept for the title track and Watermelon in Easter Hay).
Let me know what album ya got!! :)
BTW--I think you are right about Hanuman having bionicals: how ELSE could he have jumped over the ocean to save Sita??? ;)
Bhakti, i pray things will go well with you and your surgery and that you'll find relief from your affliction. blessings.
SAGE: Thank you. Your prayers greatly appreciated. :)
Good luck! Hoping for fast mending that is as painless as possible. Thinking happy healing thoughts and sending up prayers.
All good wishes to you for a quick recovery
BEST OF LUCK! HURRY BACK!

take care! hope the procedures goes on well! you will be missed..
Yes, I mean, I already knew that some cultures had blue gods. Just didn't know it symbolized transcendence.
Oh no! I'm going to miss you.
I haven't mailed what I was supposed to mail you either. :(
Okay, I'll write you a letter to add to what I'm supposed to mail you.
You're in my thoughts and prayers. Get well soon!
Bhakti - I hope everything goes OK and you have a speedy recovery.
Hello Bhakti
So how are you doing? It is nearly 6:00 pm here, cold and dark. We have just had tea and are about to listen to the news. "Is there any news of Bhakti?" Sir Hubby asked. I explained that you are not going to be able to type for a while but you will be able to read comments.
E is going to draw you a picture and make you a get well card. I will scan it for her so that we can send it to you by email.
Hope everything is going well and you are being looked after.
Love SA xxx
I hope you are recovering quickly. After being involved in a recent political debate, I need to learn some of your skills! Take care of yourself.
Hey bhakti good luck with the surgery
Exhausted? Riddled with pain? Then you need a dose of Hydronium. Yes, Hydronium heals all wounds, and leaves you with a nice minty-fresh scent. Perfect for spinal surgery!
bhakti, I would of got here sooner but, visited your alter-ego instead. Those darn alter-egos! I'd forgotten your troble was w/your neck.
Hold your head up!(oops,bad metaphor)
Just like I told medusa. I won't pray for ya(God & I had a falling out)but, I'll bite the bullet & go out and have fun for you. Tonite, I make a sacrifice(not literally) & go get drunk, You can be sure I'll have one for you girls that are laid up.
I'll check in on you once in a while, while you are down.
Chow, girlfriend!
P.S. See that they don't remove your sense of humor!
How about a cup of tea and a nice custard tart?
We have just been playing animal dominoes with E who is now upstairs in bed. About to settle down for the evening and looking forward to an extra hour or so in bed tomorrow morning. Thank Crunchy tomorrow is Saturday! Have to be up by 8:00 though as E has a dance class.
Hope you are recovering well!
Love SA xx
I hope your recovery is speedy.
Hi everyone. And thank you for all of your well-wishing. I surely do appreciate all of your love and support.
My arm is still hurting badly, and so I am going to continue my break from typing until things heal up.
I have been reading my comments daily, as well as reading all of your blogs. I am unable to type comments at this time. Wouldn't be prudent (oh no--I'm starting to sound like George Bush the elder! Yikes!)
Keep me in your prayers, as I keep you all in mine.
Lots of love and happy wishes,
Bhakti
Sounds like you're doing well. Take your time - I'd hate to think you hurt yourself because of blogging. :)
Get well soon. Just imagine, decades from now, surgeries like the ones you've endured will be all but forgotten.
Also, dogs will be able to talk and we'll all have flying cars.
Ewww... your spine? "membrane"? I'm so freakin' squirrely on surgery of any kind (unless it's me, then it's kind of cool--"they pulled out my eye, cut it open, pulled gunk out and then popped it back in!")
I hope you heal quickly and get back to writing, because I'll miss you (and it's all about me).
Get better! (And if you want to give the gory details of your surgery, please do. But, be sure to put up a warning notice for chickens like me--I'll read it through my fingers).
My thoughts are with you during this time and my heart, of course, never leaves you. You’ll come through fine because you always do. Did you ever consider that you may be an incarnation of Hanuman and this latest procedure is akin to having your tail set afire by the demon king Ravan? Just an idle, silly thought, based solely on your gifts of uncommon power and strength. Love you, Johnny C.
