The Moon

The moon is one of my favorite things in the entire world. I often take refuge in the moon during times of trial. To me it represents stability and clarity.
I absolutely love when the moon is visible during the day.

During the evenings, I love to gaze up at the moon and repeat my mantra: Om Namah Shivaya. This mantra reminds me of God within and without. I enjoy repeating the mantra while soaking up the cool rays of the moon.

Above: Photograph of the moon at noon yesterday. Below: Photograph of the moon a midnight last night.

Today is Human Rights Day. May we spread the joy and love of your hearts today and always, and remember those less fortunate than ourselves.

Happy Holidays,
Bhakti

TB is fine. He's at my parents house right now. The doctor gave him some meds. Call him later...he'd love to hear from you!

I'm off to bed now...rough night. Felt like I got plowed down by a car again! But, it was worth it. J and I had so much fun!!

Many people mistake the Moon as an object of beauty. My exposé (which will be posted on Monday, probably) disproves that.

Alright, I called...not sure he knew who I was..just kidding..I am SOO glad he is ok!!!
We are putting the tree up tomorrow..stop by in the afternoon and help..the kiddies would like that!

GYROBO: The moon, to me, represents the true 'Guru'. The light within. To me...that would make it beautiful!

CC: Don't know. Like my last comment stated, I feel like a train-wreck today. The physical therapy is killing me (but hopefully making me stronger!) You're going to have to get your arse over here!

Bhakti, what does your mantra mean?

OM NAMAH SHIVAYA is translated as follows:

OM is the primordial sound

NAMAH means to honor or bow down to

SHIVAYA denotes divine Consciousness, the Lord who dwells in every heart.

When I was younger I sat through most of a lunar eclipse one summer night, hoping to become enlightened.

What I got was a cold bum.

But I do like to take refuge in the moon as well. (I actually have a secret meditation bunker in there).

My dad took some great photos of the satellite, back in September.

My favorite "moon time" is when the moon is full on a clear winter night. We'd often take walks in the woods (without flashlights), to enjoy the sparkling snow and freaky shadows.

FLATLANDER: Maybe a 'cold bum' is enlightenment! I've had a glimpse of a cold bum once, but I've never been able to hold that state for very long. I often end up sitting on a hot radiator, thus creating a 'hot bum'. I'm not being conceited here. I'm talking about 'hot' as it 'heat', not 'hot' as in groovylicious. (I don't think I should write comments when I'm highly medicated. I might get myself in trouble...)

TSHSMOM: Wow...that sounds beautiful and scary all at once! I've often wondered why we get scared when it's dark. I think it's because we can't see the beauty of God's (or whatever you would like to call the Creator, or not) creation everywhere. But, then, I suppose that wouldn't ring true if you lived in a place that is beseiged by war...

ROBOBUTTOCKS INC.: Perhaps that's why I feel so 'at home' while gazing at the moon. I've been there before, but in the future, not the past. You know what I mean? (I sure don't...)

p.s. ROBOSHRUBBERY: How does the end of the world come to be? Tell me. I want to know. 'Cause if it's coming anytime soon I might as well stop the blog now and save myself some arm pain...

I love it when the moon shows during the day too.

Oh, I just noticed the FBF Winner icon. I need to stick mine up. My blog is so behind. I still haven't even put blog links on it yet. :( This week, I really should do some work on it, especially since I was so happy to win that Tiara.

I love the sentiment in this entry. My kids remind me of this every day: whenever they see the moon during the daytime, we discuss why they can see it when it's still light. This always kicks off a scientific discussion of orbital mechanics.

I love being their Dad...they're oh so curious about everything. And all because they saw the moon in the sky. Thanks for the reminder.
