Guru Kitty
The other day, I was at my grandmother's house and she noticed that my eyes lit up and I smiled when my gaze fell upon this lovely blue antique lamp (pictured in the above photo). She said it made her feel so good to see me smile, and she offered me the lamp. Very lovingly, I accepted.
This lamp does bring a smile to my face every time I see it. I think it is absolutely beautiful, and I'm not one who usually cares either way about antiques. I think the one reason this lamp resonates with me is because I often see the same color blue while in meditation; its presence in my room has a calming effect on me. Not only is the lamp a remebrance of the peacefulness and serenity of meditation, but it is a remembrance of my grandmother's love for me, and my admiration for her.
A big shout out to my grandmother for thinking of my happiness; you are as self-less as they come. Thank you for you in the world.

I don't know what is prettier - the lamp or Kitty Von Kitty!
What a great picture. Love the little picture in the background
KENJU: I love the little smile on Kitty's face, don't you? :)
MARK: I was actually thinking that you would love this photo--and would probably comment on the 'beautiful' picture on the window sill! :)
That pic. makes me want to go to sleep in a sunny window. Your kitty looks so serene. & the lamp is pretty. I hope someday i can give my grandchildren things they will treasure. :)
That was nice of your grandmother. It looks like Kitty von Kitty is meditating also.
I wonder... Would you say that the lamp is enlightened??
*sorry* ;'}

L>T: I'm sure that you will leave your grandchildren TONS of cool artifacts! :)
BILL: Hi! It's great to see you again! Yes, Kitty does love to meditate! She loves to listen to devotional music, too (no joke!).
PHIL: Who died and made you Surgeon General?? ;)
MrA: LOL! That was a good one! Actually, this is the type of lamp that can illuminate at three different levels of wattage (you know, it has the type of turn on switch that clicks at three levels of brightness intensity). I guess that would mean that the lamp is enlightened on many levels!
Hey....Me just posted on something about the dog i found....But kittie looks cute :):)
Having... Garfield... redux...
James Garfield, president of the United States, reincarnated as a cat due to his hatred of pine trees.
He also looked like that on sunny days. I know because I'm a historian. No! I'm a histororian! No, a histo-ister-wisty-ologian!
I agree about the colour blue having a calming effect though it does not exactly endear in text form.Maybe you should shift to wordpress which has plenty of blue templates. I have chosen two for my blogs.
It's so nice that your Grandma can see you enjoying the lamp.
I have already given my daughter several pieces of family jewelry. I want to share her joy in these pieces of our family's history!
Kitty Von is looking happy, as usual.
Yes, FLATBUTTOCKS, Kitty has been very calm and contemplative lately (usually she is neurotic and skittish--perhaps my pain killers are working on her, too).
:)
the lamp seems to have the same effect on ur kitty too. very pretty lamp!
