Steve Vai:Jeff Buckley:Master Yuen=My Mystical Muses ...Plus: It's YOUR Turn to Write!
So, while I'm letting my body heal from last weekend's trip, why don't you tell me what you are listening to, and what books are currently in your hand, on your night stand, on your desk at work, or where ever they may be.
Tell me what you're listening to and why it appeals to you; your favorite song; your favorite lyric or musical passage.
I have only wonderful things to say about Steve Vai; I shall save those stories for another day. For now, I would like to thank Master Dr. Kam Yuen for taking time out of his busy schedule to do major healing work on my nerves, hands, arms, neck, legs, mind, etc. so that I may heal more and more every day. Thank you Master Yuen--I honor you for your service.
Beloved Master Dr. Kam Yuen

Right now I'm hooked on a techno remix of the Popeye theme.
As for books, I'm reading a good one on steganography, the art of hiding data in plain sight. It's already given me the idea to add a White Noise filter to my pet encryption web app.
If none of that made sense to you, I envy you greatly.
P.S.
Sorry to hear about your unresponsive fingers. May the platelets rebuild you from the inside!
Actually, my Little Metal Guy--I am happy to say that the 'healing' session I had on the phone with Master Yuen on Friday is working a bit. He taught me isometric exercises for my fingers--which are absolutely CONTRARY to the exercises my western physical therapists had me doing for the past two and half years--yet DR. YUEN'S METHOD IS WORKING WONDERS!!!! He is a master. Actually--you might find this interesting: if you google Shaolin Temple and go on their actual web site, you will see that Master Kam Yuen is listed as the LIVING MASTER of the Temple--I didn't even know that. I knew he was the living master of the Praying Mantis (or one of those insects) style of Kung Fu in the Shaolin Temple, but I didn't realize he is the top man. You'd never know it by speaking to him: he is so incredibly HUMBLE. In fact, if you looked up the word HUMBLE in the dictionary, you would see his name, as well as Steve Vai, Gurumayi, Sally Kempton, and a slew of other 'masters' I've been fortunate enough to meet in my life.
After reading your response as to what you're reading...well, I have to say, you must definitely be the humble master of the 'behind the scenes' computer programming ghostophere. (I think I just created the next "buzzword" in 'ghostophere': make sure you quote me on that so I can make lots of money...yeah right.) ;)
Thank you for your response.
Are you truly listening to a techno version of the Popeye theme song??? ***I'm....scratch...scratch...scratch......Popeye...kick drum...snare...kick drum...snare...the Sailor...scratch...double time KICK/SNARE...KICK/SNARE...scratchity...scratch...scratch...fire siren loop...scratch/kick/snare!!!!!....MAN!!!!!(this vocal skips, repeats, and phase shifts using a sample of CHER'S voice)....kick/snare...scratchity...kick..kick..kick...snare/splash cymbal...kick/snare--crash cymbal...FULL STOP!!!!...(CHER'S voice continues to skip and phase shift with the fire siren loop fading off in the distance...various club kid sampled voices being panned left and right shouting "SPINACH RULES! LETTUCE DROOLS! SPINACH RULES! BROCOLLI'S FOR FOOLS!!!...*** end of song.
Does it sound something like that???
:P
Talk to ya later...

hi bhakti
i stumbled upon your blog by mere accident... i was typing "is it okay to be angry with bhagavan (god)..." and there came your blog...
So let me ask you a question that I have been cogitating over for such a long time.. Is it okay to be angry with God?
sorry for asking this... i know your your recent post was based on something light and not heavy... but im burdened by this.. Im angry with god and I dont know what to do... Ive always been such a huge devotee that has always loved God.. .. but now... im angry..furious...my room is filled with pictures of Krishna art, and Shiva Art.... out of angry, i ripped one of them up... Of course now I feel ridiculous doing something overly dramatic... but its how i felt.. its how i still fell... angry...
as humans are we not allowed to feel anger towards God when we feel there has been an egregious injustice commited...?
sorry for the long comment and it being off topic...
My Dearest Atma Khali--I don't think that there is anything wrong with being 'angry' at/with God. If you sit with your anger, and forget what triggered your anger, and forget your present feelings about 'being angry at God, or angry with God', and really just sit with the anger, I think you will start to feel a shift take place.
Sit in a comfortable position--perhaps on a chair with your feet shoulder-width apart and your thighs parallel to the floor; or sit on the floor with your crossed in medition pose--and just sit for a few minutes following your breath. You might want to say "INBREATH" with every inhalation and "OUTBREATH" with every exhalation--anything to take your mind off of your thoughts of anger or thoughts about anger towards God, etc.
Next, as you feel the anger arise by itself, which I assume it will since it seems to be such an overwhelmingly powerful emotion for you at present, just sit with the anger. Don't push it away; don't focus too much on it; don't listen to the story that is going on in your head about WHY you are angry or about what happened to trigger your anger. Just let the anger be with you--let it come up. See what the sensation of anger really feels like. What does it 'look' like? Do you sense any particular color or visualize any color when you sit with your anger? Does the anger change to some other emotion or feeling, such as fear, helplessness, frustration? (Anger and fear are two heads of the same coin.)
As I stated above, I think you will notice that once you simply sit with the anger and stop worrying about whether or not it is okay to be angry with God--in other words, once you drop the 'guilt' associated with feeling angry towards God--I can tell you from experience that the anger will begin to be released and it will actually be transmuted back into the pure consciousness from which it came from.
My Guru once said that as soon as you stare anger in the face it will run the other way.
You see, in Truth, you ARE a manifestation of God---you are THAT which you call God; perhaps you don't see that yet, or maybe you are doubting that. Whatever. My point is this: in Truth, you are made of pure Love and Light. The Love and Light you are made of is SO much more powerful than any human emotion--and will outwin any 'staring contest'!! :)
I don't even know you, but I can tell you this: you are a great person. Just because you have been born on this Earth; just because you have taken birth as a human being, that means that you are a great being, with great potential.
It is okay to be angry with God. It is also okay to forgive yourself for being angry with God, which is what I sense is the true issue that you are dealing with right now.
Of course, I don't know what has happened that has made you so angry with God, but that doesn't matter; there's no need to tell me.
One of the worst things a person can do is have blind faith. You must not test your maker (or Guru, or God, etc.), but you must also question your beliefs from time to time to make sure that you do not just have blind faith. So many of the wars and tragedies that are taking place in our world today are happening because 'religious' people who practice blind faith in their religious leaders (and take everything at word value without actually experiencing the Truth of the Word itself) become fanatics and then think they are better than others, etc. This leads to inflated egoes, which leads to power struggles, which leads to war. If these people actually knew anything about God (i.e. their inner Self) they wouldn't dare hurt another individual through war, torture, etc., because they would be aware of the fact that they are really hurting themselves, as we are all 'cut from the same cloth' (i.e. we are all made from the same Pure Consciousness).
SO, it is good to question your beliefs from time to time, to make sure that your values are actually good values and to make sure that you are following Krishna's Word, or the words and wisdom of Shiva, etc.
I suppose what I'm getting at is that I think if you are 'angry' with God, perhaps what you are truly doing is questioning 'His' omniscience. Maybe not. Perhaps I'm thinking too much now!
Getting back to my Heart: I will tell you something that my great meditation master once told me: "DON'T WORRY".
So, my friend, unburden yourself. Forgive yourself for ripping up the picture, and perhaps replace it if you feel like it. But mostly, just know that you can't help what you feel, and if you 'feel' angry towards God, then that is simply the way you feel.
I hope the above meditation technique helps to dissolve your anger (you may have to do this meditation several times to get the hang of it, or to really let yourself go deep enough to totally have the anger dissolved completely).
My teacher Sally Kempton (formerly known as Swami Durgananda) taught me the aforementioned technique.
Good luck, my friend. Please keep me posted and feel free to email me.
