'Cool Rays of the Moon...
that beckons me back to you?
My Love--You are a reflection
of my great Self--
The Sun of all suns;
The Light of all light.
Poem © August 2006 Bhakti Brophy
There is some kiss we want with
our whole lives, the touch of
spirit on the body. Seawater
begs the pearl to break its shell.
And the lily, how passionately
it needs some wild darling! At
night, I open the window and ask
the moon to come and press its
face against mine. Breathe into
me. Close the language-door and
open the love-window. The moon
won't use the door, only the window.

I prefer the semi nude version - I like just a hint of promise :]
Very poetic--and quite true, I might add. I've always enjoyed movies that only hint at nudity. That's much more provocative, as I think you would agree. :)
I like them both: the one on top for its hint of mystery. A hidden or partially hidden source of light is always an invitation to wonder. The one on the bottom suggests a relationship between the moon and the cloud, a close relationship between one heavenly body that's been orbiting our planet since time immemorial, and an ephemeral collection of water vapor that won't exist in 20 minutes.
And I won't even get into the relative distance between the two. Either way, we live in a magical world that regularly presents such wonders to us.
As always, you've captured it with grace. Consider me intrigued and inspired.
(And, yes, I'm still praying for you. Every day. Glad you're writing, shooting and sharing.)
Hard to say. Though I think I like the 2nd better, can't really put my finger on why. Thanks for sharing the poems.
CARMI: Thank you for appreciating my vision of our wonderful world. BTW--Your comment about the relationship of the cloud and the moon reminds me of a saying: the Native Americans referred to the moon surrounded by clouds as being "Drawn by white horses". I think that's really beautiful. :)
MARK: Thank you. I have a difficult time deciding which one I like, too. The one on the top definitely looks better on my camera than it does on the computer screen (I have a horribly old computer screen); and I wish I had the camera on a tripod when I took the one on the bottom--although I suspect some of its charm comes from the feeling of movement--as if the clouds is moving quickly. In truth, the camera was resting on my bathroom windowsill! The story behind the two photos is that I couldn't sleep one night, and while using the restroom in the middle of the night, I noticed the moon sitting so beautifully behind the maple tree.
Beauty is sometimes found in the least likely of places!!
: )
I personnally like the first one. It draws the eye to the light. The second one looks blurry to me, for some reason I never liked blurry photos.
Hi BILL: You should like the new picture of the moon better, then. It's totally in focus!!
ROBOSHRUB: Rumi is one of my favorites, to be sure. I also love Hafiz, as you probably already know from reading the blog. Strangely enough, Kabir--who is a widely famous Sufi poet, is not one of my all-time favorites; but I like him enough to own a couple of his books.
I'm glad that you left a comment. It's great to see you around the blogoshere! :)
PS Are you totally sure that you and Gyrobo are different entities??????
