Doctor's Orders!
Hi friends!
I just wanted to let you know that my doctor has ordered me to start blogging again. No joke! I was in his office and he said that I didn't seem as happy as I used to be, and that I never mentioned the computer anymore (i.e. the blog!). He said, "I want you to do the computer work again. It made you happy."
YEAH!!
I have been taking time away from the blog for many reasons, but now--I'm comin' back! And when I finally DO come back full-time, I will be better than ever!
I am in the process of buying a laptop computer that will enable me to type more often without hurting my neck, arm, spine, etc.
So, in this new year, I look forward to blogging with all of my friends again and I am anxious to see how many wonderful new people I will meet. :)
As I've said many times, you bring so much light into my life--even my doctor noticed that I've been somewhat depressed since I have stopped blogging. I've missed you all, and I love you all.
I may be physically unable to do many things due to my spinal disease; however, I am going to spend my time blogging. Just like in the past, I will offer my love and inspiration to you, and you will do the same for me.
I've also said that together we can change the world, and I believe that we can!
As soon as I get the laptop I will be able to blog more, and
I can't wait!
Until then,
Much love!

Happy New Years Bhakti!
Thanks for the emails. I've read them, and wanted to reply on your blog instead.
Let me know how the book is coming.
Welcome back to the happy world of blogging. Doctor's orders...who knew.
I hope you are feeling better physically and I hope blogging will make you feel better mentally.
zOMBIESLAYER!!!: Hey--it's so great to hear from you; I've always wondered if you got the emails or not.
I'm in the process of outlining the book: deciding what subjects would make the best (most obvious) chapters, etc. I keep going through experiences where I am told that my condition MIGHT improve, and so I've been kind 'a waiting for that moment. Now, I know that where I am now is where I'll be for awhile, so I feel that I HAVE to commit to doing ONE thing that is creative. I am saving my funny memoirs until after the pain book is written--or at least explored to its fullest.
Of course, you know, this book won't be about how to 'beat' the pain; it will be about how to live with SEVERE, debilitating CHRONIC pain. That is, pain that is always there--'never leaves, although, sometimes it gets worse. Therefore, my book will embody meditation techniques that have gotten me through the toughest times. There will be chapters like: "Dealing with people who don't understand your disability because you don't LOOK disabled"; "Intelligently managing your medication"; "For the family: Living with someone who is in chronic pain". That's what I'm thinking of so far. I figure that if I make the chapter titles first, then I can build on them. You know--I can say to myself--"this is how I deal with being dependent on my parents again. These are the pitfalls that have been wreaking havoc on our familial relationships. These are the breathing techniques I do when it all gets to be too much. Et cetera."
That's about it. :)
DO you mind if I keep in touch with you via email? In that way, I can run some of my other book ideas by you as I write them and/or plot them out.
:)
Thanks for commenting. You are surely missed around the blogosphere; especially right here! :)
Happy New Year!
BILL: Can you believe that the doctor is telling me to blog--albeit with a laptop and not at a desk--but still!! What fun!!
The blog actually always has been tremendously healthy for my mental state because I am alone a lot of the time. It's great to be able to share my thoughts and to get other people's responses to my thoughts, even if I have never met the 'others' in person.
Once I get my laptop, I will be doing more surfing of the blogosphere, too. I will be visiting other peoples' blogs--which is a great past time that I also miss.
I look forward to chatting with you more frequently once I get up and going full stop.
:)
Your doc is a total peach. What a cool thing to have doctor's orders to start blogging...I've GOT to have a chat with my own doc about this!
As 2007 dawns, I hope you know how much your readers care about you, and how much we wish for a full and quick recovery in 2007. Your words will bring so much comfort to others, and I'm glad to know someone who has the courage to make it happen.
Be well, my friend. We'll be here to share words with you.
Peace and love Bhakti
I am glad to see you roaming and poking about here again :)
will see you dancing upon a cloud of electrons soon :)
A very sensible doctor indeed, the kind the world is in dire need of today. (For some reason, I feel that I know this doctor: not by face, but otherwise)
Dear Bhakti, please know that my prayers are with you.
I know that this would be a very far-fetched statement, yet I shall say it: For whatever reasons, should there be anything at all in my powers that I could do for you, anything at all that could make you comfortable, please know that I am ever willing to act out at your one command.
Get well soon, Bhakti. You have no other choice!
Cheers!
