2012: For the Love of God

As you know, my spiritual name is 'Bhakti'. This is a Sanskrit word that means "love and devotion (to God/the Self within)". Bhakti is a longing for union (yoga) with God; longing for the Truth. I have been blessed with this longing since I was a young child.

A few moments ago, Jai Uttal sent out an email letting his friends know when and where he'll be leading kirtan. In this email was the above illustration of Shree Hanuman hugging his beloved Lord Rama (in Hinduism "Rama" is synonymous with the word 'God'). Shree Hanuman is the greatest lover of God.

I recall the first time I saw a murti (statue/representation) of Hanuman: I spontaneously fell to his feet and wept tears of joy. My connection with Hanuman is real: He is the aspect of ourselves that represents the great love of God. When I see an image of Hanuman, I recall the great strength I behold within and remember that I can achieve anything in this lifetime.

I just got through writing a message to a friend telling her that even if the Mayan calendar is correct and the world as we know it gets destroyed by a war between the Christian fundamentalist fanatics and the Muslim extremists, those of us who know the Truth within will be reborn into the Age of Enlightenment. Everything in the world is cyclical: the seasons change four times a year--and the Yugas change as well.

Writing this email caused me to pause and think about the year 2012: only 4 years and a few months away. When I look at the path President Bush is taking---now talking about bombing Iraq, I wonder if Nostradamus's' prediction and the Mayans' may be correct. I thought, "Perhaps the Christian/Muslim war will be the end of our great society."

A few moments later, while reading other emails, I came upon this newsletter from Master Kam Yuen--the doctor who is helping to heal my body. Wouldn't you know that in the email he addressed the issue of 2012! Grace is a wonderful thing!

I have always admired the way Grace presents Herself. Don't you love when you have a question--you send out the vibe to the universe that something is puzzling you--and She (the Great Mother) sends you the answer you are looking for, whether it be an email, a smile from a passing stranger, a phone call from a Master healer, a loving look from your cat, or anything. Anything at all can be a message from the Great Universe. I believe that the Truth of it all is that the message actually comes from inside. That is the great mystery. We are That which we are looking for. The world is a mirror. The answers actually come from inside our Heart.
Well, I'll leave it at that and contemplate what I wrote for awhile.

    So how will WE write it? How shall it read when we look back on December 21, 2012? We certainly have the elements in place to destroy ourselves. The planet has experienced cataclysmic events in its history - polar shifts, ice ages, etc. No one really knows. What the Mayan's meant with their End-Count calendar will always be up for speculation. It fires the imagination, for sure. SOooo let's write it like we want it. That is what Chris Fenwick did in the #1 Visionary Novel: "the 100th human." You choose... www.the100thhuman.com
