Out My Window

"I saw the crescent; you saw the whole of the moon."

What song are these lyrics from?

    by The Waterboys.

Ok, so I've been reading a long time & I've never commented, but this is one of my FAVE songs (assuming this is the one you're talking about; there might be others).

I'm always wishing you my best.
    :-)

  2. I don't know, maybe jin is right. That is an awesome picture though.

    How are you doing??

  3. JIN: Hi and welcome!
You're right--The Waterboys. That's one of my favorite all-time pop songs. I don't think the lyrics can be beat. The coolest thing is that the day after I took this picture, I was watching VH1Classics and they showed the live version of this song. Awesome.

Hey--is your name 'Jin' taken from the Chinese word meaning essence/silence? And if so, do you do Siddha Yoga? In any case, that's a beautiful name. :)

Thanks for commenting. And especially thanks for the happyy wishes. :)

MIKE: Hey babe. I'm doing fine. I've been experiencing an absurd amount of pain this past week, which means my pain meds have to be tweaked--especially before my surgery!

I really feel in my gut that this surgery is going to make a great difference in my life. There is a 50/50 chance that it will, indeed, help me out, and I believe that the proverbial glass is 1/2 full.
Well, you know what I always say, anyways: if the glass is half empty, you simply need a smaller glass. No problem.

    :)

Thanks for the comment. And thanks for keeping in touch; I know I've been MIA a lot lately.

  4. PS WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME I SPELLED CRESCENT WRONG??? (I've since corrected the mistake.)I hate when I do that; I am a writing teacher, after all.

Hey Mike--you have my permission to reem me a knew one when I spell something wrong. I know that's one of your pet peeves, too! :)

  6. LOL...I didn't notice crescent was spelled wrong either!

It's quite a story how my name came about...lol. (I didn't know the Chinese meaning but I love it & am glad you shared! :-)

I've always loved the word 'intrinsic' (Of or relating to the essential nature of a thing; inherent) but I didn't just want to call my blog that....so I looked up the middle english version...'intrinsique' & I thought, perfect! Except that it was already taken as a blog name. :-(
So, I simply put the J in front (as my real name is Jennifer) & shortened the diplay name to jin. It's funny though, after I did that I realized my husband always pronounces my name that way! (He's from Northern England.)

I did practice Yoga....daily, obsessively, until last December 23rd, when I got a new puppy (6 weeks old). Since then, I'm afraid I don't even do it twice a month. I need to start again. I believe I was doing Hatha (?) Yoga.

I LOVE The Waterboys....listen to them ALL the time!

Ah, an in focus moon..very nice. I've never heard of The Waterboys, I guess I live a sheltered life or just too old.

  8. Firefox 2 has a built in spell checker, which I've used to great effect.

As always, a pleasure and a pile of rocks.
